MEET YOUR COACH

A lesson built around
your child.

I’m Farhan. I help children understand what’s happening on the board, explain their ideas and build habits they can use in their next game.

My lessons combine clear explanations, puzzles and coached play. We work at your child’s pace, with a simple practice task and feedback to help you see what they’re learning.

01

Learn with purpose

From the rules to tactics, openings and endgames, every new idea has a reason behind it.

02

Play, spot, explain

Puzzles and coached games help children notice threats, find opportunities and choose safer moves.

03

Make progress visible

Personalised lesson plans, useful practice and parent feedback keep the next step clear.

INSIDE A LESSONONE IDEA AT A TIME

Today’s mission

Before you move,
notice what changed.

1What is my opponent threatening?

2Is anything attacked or undefended?

3Is my next move safe?

MORE THAN REMEMBERING MOVES

Good habits.
Better decisions.

Knowing an opening is useful. Understanding why a move works is even more useful.

A lesson might focus on protecting pieces, spotting a fork or guiding a pawn to promotion. We explore the idea, try it on the board and return to it during a game.

A FEW HELPFUL ANSWERS

New to lessons?
Start here.

Does my child need to know how to play?

No. Beginners can start with the pieces, the rules and simple games. Children who already play can work on safer decisions, tactics and understanding positions.

Where do lessons take place?

I coach in London and online. Send me your preferred area and lesson format so we can discuss what’s available.

Can siblings learn together?

Yes. Shared lessons can include activities together and questions for each child. We’ll discuss their experience to see whether a joint lesson is a good fit.

What happens in a first lesson?

We explore what your child already knows through questions, puzzles and play, then choose a useful next step. You don’t need a chess rating to get started.

How much are lessons, and how do I book?

Message me for current pricing and availability. We can discuss your child’s experience, preferred format and location, then find the right next step together.
